Thank you for the issue on Vatican Council II.
 
I especially appreciate Janet Gray’s article “Change,” which affirms the significance of the Council and recounts the efforts of revisionists to close the window Pope John XXIII opened. Her substantive essay is encouraging for those of us disheartened by continued pullbacks, especially the quiet actions of Pope Benedict XVI.

Thank you for another inspiring issue.
 
I loved especially Philomena Bowers’ contribution and endorse fully her reminder that it is the strength from the people in our lives – Mercy, ministry, family and friends – which helps us to hold on to all and anything that passing events inspire. May we each carry ever more carefully our particular treasures of the spirit of Vatican II and not only preserve them, but shine them up for public exposition.
